The Good Guys LED Display Installation
The Good Guys continually update its retail outlets through store refurbishments, and Habitat Digital was recently engaged to perform LED Display installation at their flagship store in Brighton, Victoria.
The objectives were to modernize the brand, improve in-store communications and deliver greater value to suppliers.
Habitat Digital procured, installed, and maintain six 1.5×2.5m LED displays.
We coordinate content from suppliers including Fisher & Paykel, Bosch, Samsung and Intel.
Outcome of the LED Display Installation
Habitat has been instrumental in revitalising the in-store experience through in-store radio, and this was the first time The Good Guys had installed LED displays.
The display near Kinsman is recessed in the space and from a distance, it piques interest.
Three additional displays deliver evocative imagery at key dwell points.
Why LED displays?
LED displays are an effective way to advertise and promote products, services, and events. They offer several advantages over traditional forms of advertising, including:
- Bright and vibrant: LED displays are much brighter and more vibrant than traditional displays, making them highly visible even in bright daylight or from a distance.
- High resolution: LED displays offer high-resolution and clear images, making them ideal for displaying detailed graphics, images, and videos.
- Customisable: LED displays can be customized to display a wide variety of content, including text, images, videos, and animations.
- Remote control: LED displays can be controlled remotely, allowing you to change the content or schedule without physically accessing the display.
- Flexibility: LED displays can be installed in a variety of locations, including on buildings, billboards, or even on vehicles.
- Cost-effective: LED displays are cost-effective in the long run, they have low energy consumption and longer lifespan compared to traditional displays.
It’s essential to consider the location, size, and audience when choosing a LED display for advertising. Also, it’s important to use a high-quality LED display that meets the necessary technical specifications and safety standards.
LED Display Installation process
Installing an LED display can be a complex process, but with the right knowledge and tools, it can be done successfully. Here are the steps involved in the installation process of an LED display:
- Site preparation: Before installing an LED display, it’s important to ensure the site is prepared properly. This includes checking the structural integrity of the building or structure where the display will be installed, as well as ensuring that there is adequate power and network connectivity.
- Mounting: Once the site is prepared, the next step is to mount the display. This typically involves attaching brackets to the building or structure and then attaching the display to the brackets. The display should be level and plumb to ensure proper alignment.
- Power and data connections: After the display is mounted, the next step is to connect power and data cables. This typically involves running power and data cables from the display to a power source and network switch.
- Software configuration: Once the display is powered on, the next step is to configure the software. This typically involves connecting to the display’s built-in web interface and configuring settings such as resolution, brightness, and colour.
- Content management: After the display is configured, the final step is to manage content. This involves creating and scheduling the content displayed on the LED screen. This can be done using specialized software that allows you to design and organize your content.
- Testing and commissioning: Before making the LED display live, it is important to test the display for any issues and to ensure that it is working properly. This includes testing the power and data connections, checking the display’s resolution and colour, and testing the content management software.
- Maintenance: Finally, it is important to maintain the LED display to ensure that it continues to work properly. This includes regular cleaning, checking the power and data connections, and updating the software and content.
